Les Miserables is one of the most wildly popular and successful of musicals in the history of the musical theatre. It has been running continuously in London?s West End since 1985. It is based on the 1862 novel by Victor Hugo. Now running into its 26th year, this musical is the longest continuously running musical ever. It had its absolutely mind-boggling 10,000th performance at the Queen's Theatre in the West End in January 2010.
