'Iron Man 3' And Robert Downey Jr. Have An Official Date With The Big Screen

Already a science fiction icon thanks to her role in the "Aliens" franchise, Sigourney Weaver added another notch to her sci-fi belt with "Avatar," bringing all of the intellect, warmth, humor and gravitas we've come to expect from the actress to her portrayal of Dr. Grace Augustine, a scientist studying the flora and fauna of Pandora.

But sadly, Grace was one of the many characters who didn't make it to the end of "Avatar," leaving one to assume that Weaver would not have a role to play in the eventual "Avatar" sequels. But you know what they say about assumptions — and if you don't, Weaver is here to remind you.

"It's always a mistake in science fiction to make these judgments on the dead," Weaver coyly told MTV News during a phone interview this weekend. Should we take that to mean that Grace hasn't slipped into the great beyond with Eywa just yet?

"You didn't really see her die," she said. "What you saw was... something happen. I think that [James Cameron] wants all of this to be a surprise, but don't buy the funeral wreath quite yet."

We certainly won't, Ms. Weaver, if that means we've got an opportunity to spend more time with you on Pandora! Whether or not she's involved with the sequels, Weaver has given some thought to the "Avatar" franchise and where she would like to see the story go.

"I think that the challenges to Pandora will continue," she said. "I do think that humans will be back. I also think that maybe we'll get more of a chance to live a Na'vi life. I think we want to be in that world and I, for one, would love to be a Thanator in that world! I just think we have a big appetite for going back there, and I know that Jim will do everything he can to satisfy us and take it to even more parts of Pandora that we don't even know exist yet."

For now, fans hoping for Grace's return can enjoy a solid consolation prize: The character has plenty of screen time in the over 45 minutes of deleted scenes featured in the "Avatar" Extended Collector's Edition hitting Blu-ray and DVD on November 16.

"There are quite a few scenes with Grace," she said. "You get to see more of the relationship between Grace and Jake, developing their conversations and her mentoring of him. When [Cameron] cut the film, the relationship worked so well that you didn't need a lot of the verbiage [between Jake and Grace]. But I think a lot of the verbiage was actually interesting and has more of Grace's history in it and her concerns for Jake's situation, what he's doing, and just their fondness for each other. More of the relationship is in the DVD."

Junior Seau arrested for domestic violence, then drives off a cliff! That’s what the world of sports woke up to this morning. Now everyone is dying to know about his girlfriend, and exactly what happened Sunday night. Get the details here, and see related photos and video below.

A man usually known for his incredible vision on the field apparently didn’t see the edge of a cliff in time to slam on the brakes. The 12 time Pro Bowler topped off a really bad Sunday with a serious car accident that landed him in the hospital—and boy did it make for some great headlines.

Junior Seau, arrested for suspicion of domestic violence, posted bail sometime early Monday morning. After only a matter of hours went by, he then reportedly drove his Cadillac SUV off of a cliff in Carlsbad, CA.

The NFL great told police that he fell asleep at the wheel, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Authorities are apparently still looking into the accident, which earned Seau a trip to a nearby emergency room.

Immediately after the news hit, people began to speculate that he may have attempted suicide after the troubling turn of events. TMZ reports that he insists it was nothing more than a case of dozing off while driving.

So far the name of his 25-year-old girlfriend hasn’t been released. She told police that he assaulted her after the two argued late Sunday night. When authorities arrived on the scene, she told them that her injuries were too minor to need treatment.

As of Monday morning around lunchtime, Seau was still in the hospital. He is expected to be okay. Hopefully we get some sort of statement from the defensive genius before people begin to weave their own version of things.

Steve Lee, the frontman for the band Gotthard, was suddenly and tragically killed this week in Las Vegas when a tractor-trailer lost control on a rainy road and skidded into him on his motorcycle.

The sad thing is, Steve had pulled over with a group of motorists to put on some rain clothing when the truck swerved right into them. He was trying to be safe.

The police are calling it a "freak accident."

Earlier today, the mother of the actress who voices Dora the Explorer, Caitlin Sanchez, sent us a press release and audio file in response to what she considered to be an attack on her daughter's reputation by Nickelodeon.

A spokesperson from Nickelodeon has contacted us with their response, which is as follows:

"The conversation in question with the Nickelodeon press department was in specific reference to public and PR appearances. It was clearly not about portraying the voice of the character for the television show. The Nickelodeon statement we released last week is unquestionably accurate."

For those who haven't seen it, here's the statement that Nickelodeon released last week:

"Unfortunately, Caitlin's voice changed and she was no longer able to portray the Dora character, as happened with the actress who originated the role. Caitlin's contract was extensively negotiated through her agent and in compliance with her union. She was well-compensated for her work and for personal appearances. We have enjoyed working with Caitlin on Dora the Explorer these past three years, and we did in fact offer her a contract for other work with us."

Looks like both sides are standing firm with their positions. Guess we'll see how this progresses.

A Caitlin Sanchez, Dora the Explorer lawsuit? Sanchez is the voice of the famous Nickelodeon character, but the 14-year-old’s parents are claiming that the network owes their daughter millions of dollars! Read more about the lawsuit and see photos of Caitlin here!

Have you seen the Caitlin Sanchez, Dora the Explorer lawsuit details? Wow. In case you didn’t know, the Fairview, New Jersey native has served as the voice of the Nickelodeon Dora character for a couple years (since 2008) but now there is a big fat lawsuit that her parents are throwing at the network. And the claims are explosive! We’ve got the details on this lawsuit here!

So what are the details of this dispute? Let’s just say, according to Caitlin’s parents, Nickelodeon has screwed Caitlin out of “millions, perhaps tens of millions of dollars”. Yikes!

Caitlin’s lawyer, John Balestriere told the Daily News “I’ve never seen as convoluted and inscrutable contract as I’ve seen here.” Balestriere continued, “Defendants used Caitlin, unjustly enriching themselves of millions of dollars in profits from the series and branded products, which Caitlin performed and promoted.”

In a nutshell, Caitlin’s parents are saying that Nickelodeon has not forked up any money for hundreds of hours of recording sessions. In addition to that, Caitlin was given only $40 a day for travel and a mere $5,000 an episode. That’s nothing!

However Nickelodeon is saying Caitlyn’s claims are baseless. They released the following statement saying, “Unfortunately, Caitlin’s voice changed and she was no longer able to portray the Dora character, as happened with the actress who originated the role. Caitlin’s contract was extensively negotiated through her agent and in compliance with her union. She was well-compensated for her work and for personal appearances. We have enjoyed working with Caitlin on Dora the Explorer these past three years, and we did in fact offer her a contract for other work with us.”

Sounds pretty messy!

In addition to her Dora the Explorer role, Caitlin appeared on Law & Order: SVU, in the flick Phoebe in Wonderland and on Lipstick Jungle.

The ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ star – who was diagnosed with a tumour in his throat in August – is currently undergoing eight weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, and will undergo his final session this week.

His recovery is then expected to take a further six weeks, with the Oscar-winning actor then to be subjected to periodic check-ups.

Allen Burry, his publicist, told People: “No further treatments are scheduled after this week. He’s really happy about it ending. He was determined not to have a feeding tube, and he didn’t have to have one.”

Although the 66-year-old actor is expected to make a full recovery from the illness, he may not make anymore films.

Instead, Michael reportedly wants to spend as much time with his family, wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children, Dylan, 10, and Carys, seven, as he can.

A friend explained to The Sun newspaper: “This is a man in the middle of a gigantic fight, and he wants to conserve his energy and resources. If he beats this, he intends to focus on spending time with his family. He looks like he has aged 10 years in weeks.”
